Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Miles grew up surrounded by creativity, with artists, musicians, and craftsmen on both sides of his family. His passion for woodworking began in high school woodshop, and deepened when he joined a custom cabinet shop, where he discovered his true talent for fine woodworking. Over 15 years, he honed his skills, building and installing high-end cabinetry and custom furniture throughout Santa Barbara, earning a reputation for his sharp eye for detail and exceptional construction. 

In 2017, Miles launched Miles Rucker Custom to provide unparalleled cabinetry services. In collaboration with his wife, interior designer Shannon Scott, the two combine their expertise to design, detail, and build one-of-a-kind cabinetry and furniture for their projects through Miles Rucker Custom and Shannon Scott Design.
